Bertie Blossoms

Tucked away on the iconic Portobello Road, Bertie Blossoms is far more than a charming name - it’s a cozy yet classy spot that strikes the sweet balance between a neighbourhood hangout and a refined dining experience. Whether you stumble upon it while exploring Notting Hill or come with intention, this little gem at 323 Portobello Rd, London W10 5SY effortlessly draws you in with its warm vibe, great drinks, and elevated comfort food.

The first thing that catches your attention is the inviting setup: think rustic wood, mood lighting, and a sprinkle of chic - all complemented by a wheelchair-accessible entrance and toilet, making it a space that truly welcomes everyone. If you're lucky with the weather, opt for the outdoor seating and soak in the local energy of the street while sipping something good.

Speaking of drinks, the wine list at Bertie Blossoms is nothing short of impressive. Vinca wine flows easily alongside flutes of crisp Champagne, while classic cocktails like Aperol Spritz, Gin & Basil Smash, or a cheeky Mojito are mixed to perfection at the bar. But it’s not just about the cocktails - there’s beer, cider, and a thoughtful selection of spirits too. Whether you're in the mood for a slow rosé lunch or gearing up for a spirited night out, the bar has something to suit your mood.

Now, let’s talk food. The menu reads like a greatest hits of elevated pub fare with a playful twist. Take the Beer Battered Fish & Chips with pea purée and tartare, a classic done right with golden crispiness and satisfying portions. Or go bold with the Tacos stuffed with slow-cooked short rib - rich, hearty, and packed with deep flavour. For those who crave comfort, Ed’s Favourite Rigatoni a La Vodka is creamy, comforting, and comes with just enough heat to keep things interesting.

Seafood lovers, don’t miss the Garlic Prawns or the Oyster Mignionette, which are both fresh and beautifully plated - perfect with a glass of white. But if you're leaning toward something truly indulgent, the Beef Roast or Bertie’s Fried Chicken (with Tingly Ted’s twist) will scratch that itch for something crispy and satisfying. Even vegetarians will appreciate options like Corn Ribs or creamy Risotto, which hold their own with texture and flavour.

Don’t skip dessert either. The Chocolate Brownie is rich, fudgy, and comes with just the right balance of sweetness - ideal to round off the experience, especially with a smooth Martini or a final espresso.

One of the quiet wins of Bertie Blossoms is how it caters so well to solo diners. The layout, the bar seating, the friendly vibe - it all makes it an easy pick when you’re looking for somewhere to unwind solo without feeling out of place. And while the restaurant doesn’t offer takeaway or delivery, it leans fully into the dine-in experience, which actually makes your visit feel more intentional and complete.

There’s something understatedly cool about Bertie Blossoms - perhaps it’s the way the cocktails feel as considered as the food, or the way the playlist and lighting set the tone without trying too hard. It’s a place where locals mingle with visitors, where the drinks are as memorable as the dishes, and where quality isn’t shouted about - it’s just delivered. Whether you're there for a quick bite and a Gin Smash, or a full feast with wine pairings and dessert, you’ll likely leave thinking: "Yep, I’ll be back."

My first time arriving yesterday. I was not disappointed, food was hot and fresh and well priced. Drinks were cold and delicious. The staff were attentive and polite. Music playing in the background was on point, lots of regular customers turning up, all know staff members names which was endearing. Over all a really pleasant experience and I will be returning. Other bonus points go to, a clean and spacious unisex toilet, and the kitchen is open to observe, which looked spotless.

Bertie Blossoms is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, our experience was nothing short of magical. The ambiance was enchanting, with a cozy, warm atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We started our evening with a journey through their cocktail menu, trying three different concoctions that were pure works of art. Each sip was an adventure, and the bartenders clearly knew their craft. The culinary delights at Bertie Blossoms are something to behold. The food was not just delicious; it was spectacular. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. But the true star of the show was the Special Pavlova – a dessert that could make you believe in heaven. It was a perfect blend of sweet and delicate, leaving us craving for more. What truly sets Bertie Blossoms apart is its exceptional staff. They are, without a doubt, the best we've ever encountered. Their warmth and friendliness made us feel like cherished guests, and their knowledge and passion for what they do elevated our experience to another level. In the world of bars, Bertie Blossoms is a shining star. It's a place where you can escape into a fantastical world of flavors and hospitality, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime. We cannot thank them enough for providing such a magical, welcoming, and unforgettable evening. If you haven't been to Bertie Blossoms, you're missing out on one of the best experiences EVER!

Every time I visit London I eat at Bertie Blossoms as many times as I can, it’s such a wonderful place to eat and drink. The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. I love the emerald green and vintage decor. The large gorgeous painting above the stairs has been a pretty great addition too :) food & the drinks are always perfection. I can always count on getting my Vinca wine fix when I’m there. I love that items on the menu change, there is always something new to look forward to. And the staff, they are absolutely incredible! Bertie Blossoms has done such an amazing job hiring some of the most amazing people out there. They go above and beyond to make sure that you are taken care of and feel at home

The food here was truly excellent. It was a pleasant change of pace, and the staff was very accommodating to our toddler. Although it was a very warm day, the seating area in the back near the kitchen was a bit too warm, so we opted to sit outside. However, we were positioned directly under the speakers, and the music was a little too loud for a comfortable conversation.
